WHAT IS IT?
Organo™ Black Ice is a portable and convenient way to enjoy iced tea on the go, anytime and anywhere. Black Tea is full of healthy substances called polyphenols. It contains caffeine to support alertness, with honey extract powder and dextrose to add sweetness naturally, and our exclusive ganoderma for unique nutty notes of flavor. In a portable stick pack, it can be mixed into water, lemonade, juice or other beverages to add healthy black tea flavor.
Black Tea – Tea is one of the most beloved drinks or beverages in the world, and is the most consumed beverage after water. Studies show that as little as 3 cups of black tea per day can have benefits, including supporting a healthy heart and other functions due to the types of antioxidants found in tea.
Ganoderma lucidum– Also known as the red Reishi mushroom, this mild flavor adds a note of depth to the tea flavor and brings its own benefits. Ganoderma lucidum provides triterpenoids and amino acids. Ganoderma mushrooms are ‘adaptogens’.
Ganoderma lucidum has been used in traditional Asian culture for thousands of years. The name Ganoderma lucidum means “spiritual potency”, while the Japanese name Reishi can be translated as “King of Herbs”.
Dextrose – A simple sugar that is chemically identical to glucose (blood sugar) and provides a cooling taste. Sugar contains both sucrose and glucose. The glucose portion is used by the body for energy, making it a great choice for athletes and the whole family.
Honey Powder – Adds a note of honey flavor to this smooth tasting tea.
DID YOU KNOW?
Black tea is made from the leaves of a bush called Camellia sinensis. A process called oxidation turns the leaves from green to a dark brownish-black color. Oxidation means the leaves are exposed to moist, oxygen-rich air. Much of the world’s tea is grown in mountainous areas 3,000 – 7,000 feet above sea level, Leading tea-producing countries include Argentina, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Kenya, Malawi, Sri Lanka, Tanzania and Taiwan.
